The government has made a decision to set up a substitution center
The Government Offices of Sweden has informed us in a press release that the Government will establish a substitution center. The substitution center will help companies replace hazardous substances (published 2017-11-07).
Most companies want to do right thing and want to have safe products without hazardous substances, but working with chemicals/chemical work can be difficult for many of the smaller companies. The government has therefore decided to establish a substitution center. The center will support companies that want to exchange/replace the hazardous chemicals in their products and will be situated at RISE in Borås.
Hazardous chemicals in products are a major challenge. Several Swedish actors have over the years built up knowledge about a more sustainable chemical use in products. In order to facilitate synergy and exchange of knowledge between more actors, the government has made the decision to set up a center for substitution. The center will function as an independent node between companies, organizations, industries, academia, institutes and authorities.
