Postponement of the amendment to criterion 17, environmentally hazardous H412
The implementation of the change in criterion 17, Environmentally Hazardous, that was announced 2019-07-01 and which would come into force on 2020-01-01, has been postponed. BASTA awaits the review by Swedish Chemicals Agency in 2020 of the risk reduction properties and definitions, which include environmentally hazardous. Depending on the result of the review, the previously announced change may be adjusted. Therefore the current criteria 17 continues to apply.
BASTA is launching a new logbook for the building- and construction sector!
As more and more areas and houses are built with increasingly high environmental demands and requirements, the need for environmental information on the included building- and construction products is also increasing. New legislation in this area will entail an increase in the demands placed on the different partners and participants in the construction chain. BASTA is in collaboration with the industry database Finfo, launching logbook focused on an increased traceability and digital flows for building- and construction products.
BASTA takes an overall approach to endocrine disrupting substances in construction products
BASTA is working to phase out substances of concern in building- and construction products. After the EU has agreed on a definition for endocrine disruptors, BASTA now takes an overall approach to the issue and works together with the IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute and industry representatives to provide guidance for assessing endocrine disruptors in construction products.
